In a fight against “capitalistic lifestyle” Kim Jong-un has outlawed mullets and ripped jeans.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The Dictator of North Korea has approved only 15 official haircuts citizens are allowed to have and mullets aren’t one of them.
He also banned ripped jeans, t-shirts with slogans and face piercings.
The ban was put in place to prevent youth in North Korea from imitating American culture.

The New York Post shared more on the bizarre story:
There is no “party in the back” on Kim Jong-un’s watch.
The North Korean dictator has outlawed mullets and skinny jeans in an attempt to cut off “decadent” western-style fashion trends, according to a report.
The tubby tyrant has approved only 15 official “non-socialist” haircuts — and the long-in-the-back look isn’t up to snuff, according to The Daily Express.
He also ordered a bizarre crackdown on ripped jeans, sloganed T-shirts and nose and lip piercings, according to the outlet, which cited North Korea’s The Rondong Sinmun newspaper.
The Hermit King reportedly fears that “exotic” US-style cultural trends could influence young people and ultimately lead to his loss of power.
“We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them,” Kim wrote in a recent article for Rondong Sinmun.

Fox News got the scoop too:
North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un recently banned mullets and other “non-socialist” haircuts – as well as skinny jeans – over fears the fashions would lead to capitalistic urges among the closed-off nation’s young people, according to reports.
“We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them,” Rodong Sinmun, a North Korean state newspaper wrote, according to Britain’s Daily Express.
Along with the mullet, other styles, like spiked or dyed hair, have also been banned in the totalitarian state – while only 15 “proper” cuts received an OK for citizens.
North Koreans also won’t be allowed to sport ripped jeans, have nose or ear piercings or wear T-shirts with slogans, the Express reported.
“History teaches us a crucial lesson that a country can become vulnerable and eventually collapse like a damp wall regardless of its economic and defense power if we do not hold on to our own lifestyle,” the state newspaper wrote.
You might not like mullets or ripped jeans but we all have to agree that telling your citizens what kind of hair cut they can or what type of jeans they can wear is absolute tyranny.
